Vulnerability Description | The Microsoft Windows graphics device interface (GDI) enables applications to use graphics and formatted text on the video display and on the printer.A remote code execution vulnerability has been discovered in the way that GDI+ allocates memory.The vulnerability is due to the way that GDI+ renders TIFF files with run length encoded sections. A remote attacker may trigger this issue by convincing a user to open a specially crafted TIFF image file.By persuading a user to open the malformed TIFF file, an attacker could take complete control of an affected system. |
This protection will detect and block the transferring of malformed TIFF files over HTTP.
