Vulnerability Description | Adobe Acrobat is a product for creating, distributing, and viewing PDF documents. Adobe Acrobat Reader is a free application that allows for viewing and printing of PDF documents. Adobe extends the functionality of the PDF specification and their products as new revisions are produced. There exist a double free vulnerability in the Adobe Acrobat Reader. The flaw exists in the processing of PDF files with a crafted catalog dictionary. A malicious user may exploit this vulnerability to execute arbitrary code on the target host by enticing a remote user to open a malicious file. If an attack attempt is unsuccessful in injecting and executing arbitrary code, Adobe Acrobat Reader may terminate abnormally or become unresponsive. If a code execution attempt is carried out successfully, the behavior of the target host is dependent on the intention of the injected code. The injected code is executed within the security context of current user. |
