Vulnerability Description | FFmpeg is a set of libraries and executables that can be used to record, convert and stream digital audio and video in numerous formats. FFmpeg is a command line tool that is composed of a collection of free software / open source libraries.FFmpeg has the ability to convert between different media formats. One such format is the VMD media format. A vulnerability has been reported in FFmpeg that could allow remote attackers to compromise a vulnerable target. The vulnerability is due to an integer overflow within the "vmd_read_header()" function. Remote attackers could exploit this vulnerability by enticing the target user to open a malicious VMD file. Successful exploitation of this vulnerability can lead to arbitrary code execution in the context of the user. An unsuccessful code execution attempt can lead to abnormal termination of the vulnerable program. |
