Vulnerability Description | FFmpeg is a set of libraries and executables that can be used to record, convert and stream digital audio and video in numerous formats. FFmpeg is a command line tool that is composed of a collection of free software / open source libraries. FFmpeg has the ability to convert between, and play, different media formats. One such format is the Ogg media container. A memory corruption vulnerability exists in FFmpeg when handling certain "ogv" files. The vulnerability is due to an error when handling malformed files. A malicious user can exploit this vulnerability by enticing a user to view a malicious file. Viewing such file can lead to memory corruption. Successful exploitation of this vulnerability can lead to arbitrary code execution in the context of the user. An unsuccessful code execution attempt can lead to abnormal termination of the vulnerable program. |
