Who is Vulnerable?
Vulnerability Description ACDSee is an image viewer software for Windows developed by ACD Systems. Besides the usual thumbnail viewing of folders and file type conversion, key features of ACDSee include slide show presentations, CD/DVD burning, HTML gallery creation, image folder syncing and editing/indexing of image metadata. A remote code execution vulnerability exists in multiple ACDSee products. The flaw is due to a boundary error when processing crafted X Bitmap Graphic (XBM) files. A remote attacker can exploit this issue by persuading the target user to open a malicious XBM file with the affected application. A successful attack could allow for arbitrary code being injected and executed with the privileges of the currently logged on user.
