Who is Vulnerable?
Vulnerability Description Novell Teaming is a team workspace and real-time collaboration tool. It enables users to create, share, discuss, and manage information. A remote code execution vulnerability has been reported in Novell Teaming. The flaw is due to an input validation when parsing image uploads. A remote attacker could exploit this issue by uploading a maliciously crafted file. Successful exploitation of this vulnerability would result in arbitrary files of any type (such as .bat, .exe., .jsp) uploaded to any directory on a target system, including startup folders and the Novell Teaming website.

This protection will detect and block attempts to exploit this vulnerability.

In order for the protection to be activated, update your Security Gateway product to the latest IPS update. For information on how to update IPS, go to SBP-2006-05, click on Protection tab and select the version of your choice.

Security Gateway R80 / R77 / R75

  1. In the IPS tab, click Protections and find the Novell Teaming ajaxUploadImageFile Remote Code Execution protection using the Search tool and Edit the protection's settings.
  2. Install policy on all Security Gateways.
