Vulnerability Description | Helix Server is a multi-media server that is designed to serve streaming and static audio and video content. A heap-based buffer overflow vulnerability has been reported in RealNetworks Helix Server products. The flaw is due to an error when handling Base64-encoded NTLM Authentication data. A remote attacker can exploit this issue by sending a maliciously crafted request to the target server. Successful exploitation of this vulnerability would allow the attacker to inject and execute arbitrary code with the privileges of the server process, and could terminate the application due to memory corruption that might result in a denial of service condition. |
