Vulnerability Description | The Adobe Flash Player is a multimedia and application player that renders Shockwave Flash (SWF) files. A remote code execution vulnerability has been reported in the way Adobe Flash Player handles the loading of DLL files. The vulnerability is caused by the Adobe Flash Player that uses the Windows DLL load order to attempt to load a DLL named nvapi.dll when displaying certain Flash files. A remote attacker could convince a user to open a legitimate file that is located in the same network directory as a specially crafted DLL file. Then, the Adobe Flash Player plugin could attempt to load the DLL file and execute any code it contained. Successful exploitation of this vulnerability could allow the attacker to take complete control of an affected system. |
This protection will detect and block the transferring of suspicious DLL files over CIFS.
