Who is Vulnerable?
Vulnerability Description Adobe Reader and Acrobat is a family of computer programs developed by Adobe Systems, designed to view, create, manipulate and manage files in Adobe's core technology, the Portable Document Format (PDF), a format that has become the de facto standard in the electronic document exchange. A remote code execution vulnerability has been reported in the way Adobe Reader and Acrobat handle the loading of DLL files. The vulnerability occurs when Firefox is tricked to load one of several malicious DLL files instead of the regular DLL files that are shipped with Acrobat Reader. Therefore, Adobe Reader could potentially load an attacker's DLL file and execute any code it contained. Successful exploitation of this vulnerability could allow the attacker to take complete control of an affected system.
