Who is Vulnerable? | |
Vulnerability Description | A code execution vulnerability has been reported in Microsoft Office Word 2002. Remote attacker could trigger this flaw by enticing a user to open a specially crafted Word document. Successful exploitation would cause memory corruption that may lead to arbitrary code execution resulting in a Denial of Service condition. |
This protection will detect and block the transferring of malformed Word files over HTTP.
In order for the protection to be activated, update your Security Gateway product to the latest IPS update. For information on how to update IPS, go to SBP-2006-05, click on Protection tab and select the version of your choice.
