Who is Vulnerable? | |
Vulnerability Description | A memory corruption vulnerability has been reported in Adobe Shockwave Player. The vulnerability is due to an error in the way that Adobe Shockwave Player processes tSAC chunks in specially crafted Director files. Remote attackers can exploit this vulnerability by enticing a target user to open a specially crafted malicious file on a web browser or any other application that utilizes the affected Adobe Shockwave plugin. Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may enable an attacker to execute an arbitrary code on an affected system in the security context of the logged in user. |
This protection will detect and block the transferring of malformed Adobe DIR files over HTTP.
In order for the protection to be activated, update your Security Gateway product to the latest IPS update. For information on how to update IPS, go to SBP-2006-05, click on Protection tab and select the version of your choice.
