Vulnerability Description | A remote code execution vulnerability has been reported in EMC AutoStart. The vulnerability is due to improper boundary checking in EMC AutoStart's Agent Service. A remote attacker may exploit this vulnerability by sending a malicious Login request to an affected service. Successful exploitation would allow remote attackers to execute arbitrary code on an affected system, in the security context of the service. |
This protection will detect and block specially crafted Login requests sent to the service.
In order for the protection to be activated, update your Security Gateway product to the latest IPS update. For information on how to update IPS, go to SBP-2006-05, click on Protection tab and select the version of your choice.
