Who is Vulnerable? | |
Vulnerability Description | A denial of service vulnerability has been reported in Symantec Brightmail AntiSpam. The vulnerability is due to an error in the way the product handles ZIP archives. A remote attacker may exploit this vulnerability by enticing a target user a deeply nested ZIP archive file. Successful exploitation could lead to a denial of service condition in the affected product. |
This protection will detect and block corrupted ZIP archives.
In order for the protection to be activated, update your Security Gateway product to the latest IPS update. For information on how to update IPS, go to SBP-2006-05, click on Protection tab and select the version of your choice.
