Who is Vulnerable?
Vulnerability Description A Cross-site scripting vulnerability has been reported in Adobe Flex SDK. The vulnerability is due to an error in the way Flex-generated SWF files accept arguments. A remote attacker could exploit this vulnerability by enticing a user to open a web page containing an embedded malformed SWF file. Successful exploitation could lead to a cross-site scripting issue, resulting in user information disclosure.

Protection Overview

This protection will detect and block attempts to open web pages containing requests to malicious SWF files.

In order for the protection to be activated, update your Security Gateway product to the latest IPS update. For information on how to update IPS, go to SBP-2006-05, click on Protection tab and select the version of your choice.

Security Gateway R80 / R77 / R75 / R71 / R70

  1. In the IPS tab, click Protections and find the Adobe Flex SDK Flex-Generated SWF File Cross-Site Scripting (APSB11-25) protection using the Search tool and Edit the protection's settings.
  2. Install policy on all Security Gateways.

This protection's log will contain the following information:
