Who is Vulnerable? | |
Vulnerability Description | An attacker can exploit this vulnerability by enticing a user to open a crafted PNG file, resulting in the possible injection and execution of arbitrary code on the target system with the privileges of the currently logged-in user. A remote stack buffer overflow vulnerability has been discovered in Microsoft Windows Media Player. The flaw is caused due to an improper parsing of chunk fields in Portable Network Graphics (PNG) files. An attacker can exploit this vulnerability by enticing a user to open a crafted PNG file, resulting in the possible injection and execution of an arbitrary code. Successful exploitation of this vulnerability could cause the code executed to be within the privileges of the currently logged in user. |
