Who is Vulnerable? | |
Vulnerability Description | An arbitrary file execution vulnerability has been reported in JPEG files. The vulnerability is caused while opening a specially crafted JPEG file. An attacker may exploit this issue by enticing a user to open a specially crafted JPEG file with an embedded executable or binary code. Successful exploitation could result in a denial of service condition or code execution. |
This protection will detect and block malformed JPEG files.
In order for the protection to be activated, update your Security Gateway product to the latest IPS update. For information on how to update IPS, go to SBP-2006-05, click on Protection tab and select the version of your choice.
