Who is Vulnerable?
Vulnerability Description An SQL injection vulnerability has been reported in IBM Tivoli Provisioning Manager Express. The vulnerability is due to insufficient input sanitation in a certain function when processing specially crafted HTTP requests. A remote attacker may exploit this issue by sending a specially crafted HTTP request to an affected server. Successful exploitation could allow an attacker to upload files to the server and execute code on the target server.

Protection Overview

This protection will detect and block malicious http requests.

In order for the protection to be activated, update your Security Gateway product to the latest IPS update. For information on how to update IPS, go to SBP-2006-05, click on Protection tab and select the version of your choice.

Security Gateway R80 / R77 / R75

  1. In the IPS tab, click Protections and find the IBM Tivoli Provisioning Manager Express User.updateUserValue SQL Injection protection using the Search tool and Edit the protection's settings.
  2. Install policy on all Security Gateways.
