Who is Vulnerable? | |
Vulnerability Description | A stack overflow vulnerability has been reported in the Java Runtime Environment (JRE). The vulnerability is due to an off-by-one error in the JRE when handling zip archives. A remote attacker may exploit this issue by sending a specially crafted ZIP file to the affected application. Successful exploitation would cause the application to crash, resulting in a denial of service condition. |
This protection will detect and block malicious zip files sent to the affected application.
In order for the protection to be activated, update your Security Gateway product to the latest IPS update. For information on how to update IPS, go to SBP-2006-05, click on Protection tab and select the version of your choice.
