Who is Vulnerable? | |
Vulnerability Description | A remote command execution vulnerability has been reported in Symantec Web Gateway. The vulnerability is due to improper input validation. A remote attacker can exploit this issue by sending a malicious HTTP request containing a specially crafted parameter to the target server. Successful exploitation would result in execution of arbitrary commands in the security context of the affected server. |
This protection will detect and block the transferring of specially crafted HTTP requests.
In order for the protection to be activated, update your Security Gateway product to the latest IPS update. For information on how to update IPS, go to SBP-2006-05, click on Protection tab and select the version of your choice.
