Who is Vulnerable?
Vulnerability Description A buffer overflow vulnerability has been reported in SCADA IGSS Data Server (IGSSdataServer.exe). The vulnerability is caused due to improper bounds checking by IGSSdataServer.exe. A remote attacker can exploit this issue by sending a specially crafted packet to the target. Successful exploitation would cause the target to crash, resulting in a denial of service condition.

Protection Overview

This signature will detect and block specially crafted requests sent to the target.

In order for the protection to be activated,
update your Security Gateway product to the latest IPS update.

  1. In the IPS tab, click Protections and find the 7-Technologies IGSS 9 IGSSdataServer.exe Denial of Service protection using the Search tool and Edit the protection's settings.
  2. Install policy on all modules.
