Vulnerability Description | PMSoftware Simple Web Server 2.2-rc2 suffers from remote buffer overflow vulnerability. The vulnerability is caused by failure to sanitize user-supplied input resulting in a buffer overflow. A remote user can send a long string data in a certain header, resulting in stack overflow, and gain arbitrary code execution. |
This protection will detect and block arbitrary code execution on the target server.
In order for the protection to be activated, update your Security Gateway product to the latest IPS update. For information on how to update IPS, go to SBP-2006-05, click on Protection tab and select the version of your choice.
