Who is Vulnerable?
Vulnerability Description A remote code execution vulnerability exists in the InformationCardSigninHelper Class ActiveX control, icardie.dll. When the InformationCardSigninHelper Class ActiveX control is instantiated in Internet Explorer, the control may corrupt the system state in such a way that an attacker could run arbitrary code. An attacker could exploit the vulnerability by constructing a specially crafted webpage. When a user views the webpage, the vulnerability could allow remote code execution.

In order for the protection to be activated, update your Security Gateway product to the latest IPS update. For information on how to update IPS, go to SBP-2006-05, click on Protection tab and select the version of your choice.

Security Gateway R80 / R77 / R75 / R71 / R70

  1. In the IPS tab, click Protections and find the Microsoft Windows InformationCardSigninHelper Class ActiveX Control Code Execution (MS13-090) protection using the Search tool and Edit the protection's settings.
  2. Install policy on all Security Gateways.
