Who is Vulnerable?
Vulnerability Description	Microsoft Works is home productivity software suite with fewer features than the Microsoft Office suite. The Microsoft Works Converter allows the user to open, edit, and save files in the Microsoft Works file format. CVE-2007-0216: The vulnerability is due to an error in the Microsoft Works Converter fails to properly validate section length headers. . CVE-2008-0108: The vulnerability is due to an error in the Microsoft Works Converter fails to properly validate various field lengths information. A remote attacker could trigger these flaws by convincing a victim to open a specially crafted Microsoft Works file. Successful exploitation of this issue may allow execution of arbitrary code on a vulnerable system.

In order for the protection to be activated, update your Security Gateway product to the latest IPS update. For information on how to update IPS, go to SBP-2006-05, click on Protection tab and select the version of your choice.

Security Gateway R80 / R77 / R75

In the IPS tab, click Protections and find the Microsoft Works WPS File Field Length Handling Stack Overflow (MS08-011) - Ver2 protection using the Search tool and Edit the protection's settings.
Install policy on all Security Gateways.
