Who is Vulnerable?
Vulnerability Description A code execution vulnerability has been reported in Adobe Flash. The vulnerability is due to an error in the Adobe Flash Player when parsing SWF files embedded in Excel files. A remote attacker could exploit this vulnerability by convincing a victim to open a specially crafted Excel file that contains a malicious SWF file embedded within it. Successful exploitation of this vulnerability could allow a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the affected system.

In order for the protection to be activated, update your Security Gateway product to the latest IPS update. For information on how to update IPS, go to SBP-2006-05, click on Protection tab and select the version of your choice.

Security Gateway R80 / R77 / R75

  1. In the IPS tab, click Protections and find the Adobe Flash AVM Bytecode Verification Code Execution - Ver2 protection using the Search tool and Edit the protection's settings.
  2. Install policy on all Security Gateways.
