Who is Vulnerable?
Vulnerability Description Microsoft Word is a document authoring product released by the Microsoft Corporation. A memory corruption vulnerability has been reported in Microsoft Word. The vulnerability is due to improper validation of a supplied value inside the Main Stream. A remote attacker could exploit this vulnerability by enticing a target user to open the malicious file that would trigger the potential memory corruption on the client system. Successful exploitation would cause memory corruption in a way that may lead to abnormal termination of the Word application or potentially execution of arbitrary code in the context of the logged in user.

  1. In the IPS tab, click Protections and find the Microsoft Word TextBox Sub-document Memory Corruption - Ver2 protection using the Search tool and Edit the protection's settings.
  2. Install policy on all modules.
