Vulnerability Description | A remote code execution vulnerability has been reported in the way that Microsoft Office Excel handles graphic objects when parsing a specially crafted Office file. Microsoft Excel is a popular spreadsheet application. An attacker who successfully exploited this vulnerability could take complete control of an affected system. The vulnerability is due to an error in Microsoft Office Excel that fails to properly handle dereferencing data structures when parsing a specially crafted Office file that contains graphic objects. A remote attacker could trigger this flaw by convincing a victim to open a malicious Excel file. Successful exploitation of this issue may allow execution of arbitrary code on a vulnerable system. |
