Who is Vulnerable? CA ERwin Web Portal 9.5 and prior
Vulnerability Description Multiple directory traversal vulnerabilities have been reported in CA ERwin Web Portal. The vulnerabilities are due to lack of authentication and insufficient input validation in the FileAccessServiceProvider and ProfileIconServlet servlets when processing HTTP requests. By sending crafted HTTP requests to the target system, a remote unauthenticated attacker can leverage these vulnerabilities to view the contents of arbitrary files on the target system or to delete arbitrary files recursively on the target system.

This protection will detect and block attempts to exploit this vulnerability.

In order for the protection to be activated, update your Security Gateway product to the latest IPS update. For information on how to update IPS, go to SBP-2006-05, click on Protection tab and select the version of your choice.

Security Gateway R80 / R77 / R75

  1. In the IPS tab, click Protections and find the CA ERwin Web Portal Multiple Directory Traversal Vulnerabilities protection using the Search tool and Edit the protection's settings.
  2. Install policy on all Security Gateways.

This protection's log will contain the following information:
