Who is Vulnerable?
Vulnerability Description An integer overflow vulnerabilities exists in IBM Lotus Domino's LDAP service and IBM Tivoli Directory Server. The vulnerabilities is due to incorrect handling of the name parameter by the library nnotes.dll when it processes ASN.1-encoded LDAP BindRequests. An attacker may leverage this issue by sending a crafted LDAP message to terminate a vulnerable Tivoli Directory Server, or to inject arbitrary code which will be executed in the security context of the Server process.

Protection Overview

This protection will detect and block attempts to exploit this vulnerability.

In order for the protection to be activated, update your Security Gateway product to the latest IPS update. For information on how to update IPS, go to SBP-2006-05, click on Protection tab and select the version of your choice.

Security Gateway R80 / R77 / R75

  1. In the IPS tab, click Protections and find the Multiple Vendors LDAP Server Remote Denial of Service Vulnerabilities - Ver2 protection using the Search tool and Edit the protection's settings.
  2. Install policy on all Security Gateways.
