Who is Vulnerable? IBM Tivoli Storage Manager FastBack prior to 6.1.11.1
Vulnerability Description A stack buffer overflow vulnerability exists in IBM Tivoli Storage Manager FastBack Mount. The vulnerability is due to insufficient input validation of parameters to the CRYPTO_S_EncryptBufferToBuffer function. A remote unauthenticated attacker could exploit this vulnerability by sending crafted requests to port 30051/TCP. Successful exploitation results in arbitrary code execution within the context of SYSTEM.

  1. In the IPS tab, click Protections and find the IBM Tivoli Storage Manager FastBack Mount Stack Buffer Overflow protection using the Search tool and Edit the protection's settings.
  2. Install policy on all Security Gateways.
