Who is Vulnerable?	Windows Vista Windows Server 2008 Windows 7 Windows Server 2008 R2 Windows 8.1 Windows Server 2012 and Windows Server 2012 R2 Windows RT 8.1 Windows 10 Server Core installation
Vulnerability Description	An elevation of privilege vulnerability exists in Windows Kernel. The vulnerability is caused when the Windows kernel-mode driver fails to properly handle objects in memory. A remote attacker can exploit this vulnerability by running a specially crafted application.

Protection Overview

In order for the protection to be activated, update your Security Gateway product to the latest IPS update. For information on how to update IPS, go to SBP-2006-05, click on Protection tab and select the version of your choice.

Security Gateway R80 / R77 / R75

In the IPS tab, click Protections and find the Microsoft Win32k Elevation of Privilege (MS16-090 : CVE-2016-3252) protection using the Search tool and Edit the protection's settings.
Install policy on all Security Gateways.

This protection's log will contain the following information:

Attack Name: Content Protection Violation.
