Who is Vulnerable? | |
Vulnerability Description | Many phishing campaigns are known to use mail attachments containing JavaScript code. A remote attacker could send e-mails including such files and convince users to manually trigger their execution. This would allow the malicious code to run and infect the target system. This method is often used by ransomware such as Locky, Cerber, CryptoXXX, and others. Verify HTTPS inspection is enabled on the required ports for this protection to be effective. |
This protection detects and blocks attempts to exploit this vulnerability.
In order for the protection to be activated, update your Security Gateway product to the latest IPS update. For information on how to update IPS, go to SBP-2006-05, click on Protection tab and select the version of your choice.
