Who is Vulnerable? Malwarebytes Anti-Malware prior to 3.6.1.2711-1.0.508
Vulnerability Description A remote code execution vulnerability exists in Malwarebytes Anti-Malware. The vulnerability is due to improper sanitization of user-supplied data which may be passed to the application as an option regarding the DLL loading path. A remote attacker could exploit the vulnerability by enticing a user to open a malicious web page. Successful exploitation could result in code execution on the target machine in the context of the application.

In order for the protection to be activated, update your Security Gateway product to the latest IPS update. For information on how to update IPS, go to SBP-2006-05, click on Protection tab and select the version of your choice.

Security Gateway R80 / R77 / R75

  1. In the IPS tab, click Protections and find the Malwarebytes Anti-Malware Remote Code Execution (CVE-2019-6739) protection using the Search tool and Edit the protection's settings.
  2. Install policy on all Security Gateways.
